BMC cancels vaccine reservations for people who use the leaked link
The Boston Medical Center has canceled reservations for the COVID-19 vaccine for people who signed up through a non-public scheduling system.
The system was a pilot for BMC volunteers to schedule appointments for patients in the Boston community who are imbalanced by the virus, a spokeswoman told Boston.com in a statement.
The link to the system was “improperly shared on social media,” a spokesman said.Leaked in Post to subreddit Dedicated to Coronavirus News, Massachusetts at the end of last month. The URL of the link that mentions “Community COVID Vaccine Schedule” is now redirected to the page showing the vaccination location.
“This was a link for priority partners such as nonprofits and community health centers to book patients, not for distribution,” Reddit users wrote in a post.

A BMC spokesperson said the misscheduled appointments set on Saturday continue to be respected. It’s not clear how many appointments have been canceled and how many are still respected.
