According to Spanish police, a man accused of infecting 22 people with COVID-19 who showed symptoms of coronavirus

Madrid-A Spanish man with COVID-19 symptoms who coughed a colleague and said, “I’ll give you all the coronavirus,” was charged with deliberately injuring 22 people on suspicion of being infected.

Spanish police said the investigation began after a COVID-19 outbreak at a company where a 40-year-old man worked on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca.

Police said in a statement a few days before the outbreak, the man showed symptoms of COVID-19 but rejected a colleague’s suggestion to go home and quarantine.

After work, he didn’t see any improvement, so he went to the PCR test before going to the gym and returned to work the next day. The boss told him to go home after showing a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, but the man refused.

According to police, he walked around the office, lowered his face mask, coughed people, and said, “Let’s get infected with the coronavirus.”

At the end of the day, his PCR test returned positive. Later, his colleagues were tested and five returned positive results. According to police, they infected a family, including three babies. At the gym visited by a man, three were positive and their families were also infected.

According to police, no infected person required hospitalization.

The judge charged a man who was not identified by police and released him to wait for the trial on Saturday night, the Europa Press news agency in Spain reported.
