According to data from the BC Center for Disease Control, about 85% of COVID-19 deaths in BC are people over the age of 70.

However, age is not a universal predictor. The state recorded the death of the first person in his twenties last week, but 14 in his thirties and 19 in his forties also died from the virus.

A chief coroner in Ontario recently expressed concern about the increasing number of COVID-19 patients dying at home and called for further investigation into why patients who appear to be non-serious are suddenly worsening.

“So everyone there, do you think you are invincible? Not you.”
