Dr. Lorna Breen, director of emergency department at New York Presbyterian Allen Hospital, died of suicide
Dr. Lorna Breen died Sunday, according to police in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Her father, Dr. Philip C. Breen, Told the New York Times A 49-year-old man was infected with the virus and recovered.
When he last spoke, he described “the onslaught of a patient who had died before being taken out of an ambulance,” he said.
Breen’s friend and former colleague spoke to ABC News.

“Originally sad, it’s just devastated,” said Dr. Debbie E. Maddock. “What about us with all these people seeking to end the lockdown?”
Her father told the New York Times, “Because she was a hero, make sure she is praised as a hero.”
