Halifax-New Brunswick reports nine new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. This includes two travel-related cases involving residents of New Brunswick, which are isolated outside the state.

Twenty-two previously reported cases in New Brunswick are now considered to have recovered as the number of active cases decreased to 123.

New Brunswick’s health authorities have not yet decided on the next step, as Nova Scotia will be the first state to stop taking the AstraZeneca vaccine as the first vaccination on the Atlantic coast of Canada.
In a news release on Wednesday, Nova Scotia’s public health announced a suspension due to concerns about the rare increase in blood clotting associated with the vaccine. The state also said it had enough mRNA COVID-19 vaccine to immunize individuals over the age of 40.
