Massachusetts coronavirus cases have increased by 337, the lowest per day since September.
State health officials on Friday reported 337 new cases of coronavirus and 18 new deaths. This is the lowest number of cases per day since September.
During the deployment of the vaccine, virus cases have declined significantly in the past few weeks. The state’s estimated number of active cases is currently 14,884, down from the estimated 36,775 cases of activity a few weeks ago.
The 14,884 cases have the lowest estimated active cases since the state began reporting on November 2.

The 337 new cases reported on Friday will increase the total number of cases in the state to 655,687. The daily number of coronavirus cases has not been very low since September 13, when 335 cases were reported.
The 7-day average of confirmed cases is 408. Since the start of the pandemic, the lowest rate ever was 156 in July.
The 18 new virus deaths on Friday brought the total number of confirmed deaths in the state to 17,384. The average seven-day mortality rate was six, down from about 75 in late January, the lowest ever during a pandemic.
Massachusetts’ 7-day weighted average positive test rate was 1.14%, down from 1.39% a week ago.
State-wide hospitalizations are also declining as state vaccine deployments. The total number of hospitalized patients on Thursday decreased by 9 to a total of 376. The last less than 400 COVID-19 patients in a Massachusetts hospital were on October 28th.
There are 104 patients in the intensive care unit and 63 patients are intubated.
As of Friday, more than 8.3 million vaccines have been shipped to the state and more than 7 million have been distributed, according to a daily vaccine report from DPH.
Currently, about 45% of all Massachusetts residents are fully vaccinated with the coronavirus, and 55% are vaccinated with the Pfizer or modelna vaccine at least once.
