1,495 new COVID cases, 21 deaths, 25K vaccination – NBC Chicago

According to the state health department, Illinois health officials have reported 1,495 newly confirmed coronaviruses on the final day, although server issues may have underreported vaccinations. Cases and 21 additional deaths were reported.

According to the Illinois Public Health Service, the number of newly reported cases of coronavirus has increased to 1,368,709 across the state since the outbreak of the pandemic, and the total number of deaths has increased to 22,466.

In the last 24 hours, 58,222 coronavirus test specimens have been returned to state laboratories, with more than 23.9 million currently underway during the pandemic.

According to IDPH data, the state-wide positive rate dropped to 2.3% for all tests, positive results were returned, and the positive rate for individuals tested in the last 7 days dropped to 2.8%.

According to the latest data, the state reported 25,936 vaccinations on the final day, with a 7-day moving average of 56,593 vaccines. However, a server issue could have reduced vaccination data on Tuesday.

“The use of server pharmacies is experiencing delays, and some doses given at pharmacies are missing from yesterday’s numbers,” IDPH said in a release. “The problem seems to have been resolved and those doses are expected to be included in [Wednesday’s] data. ”

As of Sunday, the state administered more than 10.4 million coronavirus vaccines during the pandemic.

At midnight, 1,503 patients were hospitalized for COVID. Of these patients, 407 are in ICU beds and 234 are currently on ventilators in the state.
