Vietnam: In the southern region, preventive measures against Covid-91 are being strengthened as cases continue to increase in the country.
Ho Chi Minh, May 29 (Vietnam News / ANN): Following the instructions of the People’s Committee, the Military Safety Training Center of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City has set up a new quarantine area with 600 beds and accepted 473 people.
The People’s Committee has approved a new use of university dormitories to quarantine people in close contact with patients and a temporary use of the 300-bed Kanzo Hospital – Base 2 as a quarantine facility.
It instructed the latter to treat Covid-19 patients and prepare to isolate suspected infections.
There are 30 government-run facilities and 42 hotels, isolating people with a total capacity of 10,481 beds.
Health officials are trying to increase that number to 30,000.
To this end, they plan to use an additional nine military-operated quarantine facilities and a total of 19,520 bed dormitories in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam National University.
In Dong Nai, officials said the state would use high school, college, and university dormitories as quarantine facilities if the existing five dormitories became inadequate.
Professor Dr Phan Trọng Lan, director of the HCM City Pasteur Institute, said that variants of the coronavirus are now causing a rapid epidemic.
