COVID-19: NB is a little closer to Phase 1 of vaccine goals and resumption plans-New Brunswick
According to New Brunswick, just under 10,000 people need to be first vaccinated to reach the 75% mark to begin Phase 1 of the resumption plan.
Also on Friday, the state announced one new case of COVID-19. The new case is in Zone 3 (Fredericton region) and is the contact information for the previously confirmed case.
According to public health, 73.6% of New Brunswickers over the age of 12 receive the first COVID-19 vaccine. In terms of numbers, it means that an additional 9,664 people need to shoot to reach the 75% figure.
The number of COVID-19 cases identified in New Brunswick is currently 2,284. Since Thursday, five have recovered, for a total of 2,142.
There are 44 deaths and 97 infected.
Four patients are hospitalized, two of whom are receiving intensive care. One of the patients receiving intensive care is in a hospital outside New Brunswick.
A total of 348,837 1,336 tests were conducted on Thursday.
Cumberland County, Nova Scotia is included in the first phase of Path to Green
The state also announced on Friday that Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, was added to the first phase of the road to Green in New Brunswick.
The first stage is effective when 75% of eligible New Brunswickers receive their first vaccination.
The rest of Nova Scotia will not be included until the state reaches the second phase.
People traveling from Cumberland County to New Brunswick under relaxed restrictions. Prince Edward Island; Newfoundland and Labrador; Avignon and Themiscouata regions in Quebec do not need to be quarantined or tested.
The state said it would continue to require travel registration.
