Counsel Michelle Wu of Boston said on Monday that he was positive for the COVID-19 antibody but negative for the new coronavirus, saying he may have been infected with the virus in the past.
Wu said On Monday’s Tweet She was randomly selected last week for an antibody test at the Massachusetts General Hospital. A resident of Roslindale received the test results Sunday night, saying that the new coronavirus was negative and the antibody was positive.
A general mass survey in Massachusetts aims to determine what percentage of people were exposed without developing symptoms, city officials said in late April. The program requires 1,000 residents to be tested for coronavirus antibodies in their blood.
Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh said last week that he hoped the test would “better understand the true prevalence of COVID-19 in our community.” The results of the testing initiative provide important information for what he described as a “war” against the virus.
Over 9,900 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Boston residents so far. Its case load includes at least 426 deaths.
