ASCO has issued an update to its guidelines recommending that certain breast cancer patients be provided with the adjuvant olaparib for one year.
This recommendation applies to patients with high-risk, early-stage HER2-negative breast cancer and germline BRCA Mutations that have completed topical treatment, including neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
This recommendation updates the guidelines for hereditary breast cancer management published in 2020 by ASCO, the Japanese Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
