Common medicines used by the NHS have been recalled in “increased risk of cancer”
The drugs that NHS often uses to treat blood pressure in patients have been recovered by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) due to the risk of contamination.
31 batches of products containing losartan or irbesartan have been recalled. As fear increases, it can be contaminated with substances that increase the risk of cancer.

MHRA continues to work with other regulatory health agencies to manage the ongoing situation and is considering other recalls of these types of products in 2018 and 2019.
Patients are urged to continue taking the drug because their blood pressure needs to be regulated due to the slight risk to their health due to possible contamination.
