What steps is your company taking to support your organization and morale in today’s economy?

Whatever the economy, LEMO, as a private family business, has always focused on employees. Thanks to a successful strategy and a lot of hard work, was developing (and often hiring).

Community / Non-Profit Activities: Working full-time, raising a young family, and attending law school simultaneously prohibited virtually any additional activity (charitable or otherwise). That said, my wife and I became very active during the 2017 forest fires by providing books to children displaced by the disaster.

It has been extremely rewarding – so much so that my wife and I are considering starting a non-profit organization to continue in this direction. In addition, now that I am a lawyer, I look forward to joining my peers to provide free legal services to Sonoma County.

Most of the buzzwords in my industry are meaningful, usually associated with products, services or compliance requirements, so nothing immediately comes to mind.

Typical day in the office: In operations management and in law, there is really no typical day in the office: each day brings new challenges, new rewards, and I find it exhilarating.

The best place to work outside your office: home

Hobbies: Spending time with my family, our two dogs, studying law, business, programming and languages.

What you wanted to be when you grew up: It’s difficult because I wanted to be so many things. My first memories are of wanting to be a marine biologist, then a game designer. From there, the list continues and continues to grow to this day.

# 1 thing you want to accomplish by the time you are 40: I would like to learn a language: Mandarin or French.

First job: At a remarkably early age in the early 1990s, I was employed part-time by West Coast Online, an Internet service provider based in Rohnert Park.

I had the opportunity to work in trade shows and describe the World Wide Web to participants (which was still very new in most of the world at the time), to help with phone calls, to serve as light technician and do occasional programming.
