Many questioned the approach, with several concerns raised regarding education, social distancing rules and infection figures.

Last week, we asked our readers: If you could ask Boris Johnson a question about the government’s new guidelines on coronaviruses, what would they be?

Many of you responded via social media to express your thoughts and raised several questions about the titles of our Northeast Facebook pages.

Many questions have been asked about the return of children to school after the government plans to start a gradual reopening of primary schools in England from June 1.

Some have asked how it can be considered safe to send their children back to school, especially if they are in the protected or vulnerable categories.

Businesses also to reopen; others asked how they are expected to provide child care upon their return to work.

The government has also issued new guidelines stipulating that cleaning ladies and nannies are allowed to return to work in people’s homes as long as they do not show symptoms of coronavirus.

Our readers therefore asked why their own family members were not allowed to enter their homes, while people from the real estate companies, who were allowed to reopen, could.

Another imminent rule change is that people entering the UK will have to be quarantined for a period of time, with the government still working on the details of implementing the plans.

However, many have asked why quarantine rules for people arriving in the country, or more stringent locking measures, were not introduced earlier.

With regard to the lockout rule changes, which were relaxed on May 13, readers asked why Scotland and Wales had not implemented the same strategy.

People are now allowed to leave the house for unlimited exercise and sports with members of their own household, as long as social distance is maintained

Readers in the Northeast asked if it made sense, especially since the R number, which measures the rate of infection, is higher in the region.
