Former British transport minister ‘fired for Muslim faith’

The former British transport minister and Conservative MP said he had been fired because of his Islamic beliefs.

Nusrat Ghani said he had lost his job as Prime Minister Boris Johnson and that former British transport minister had been fired because of his Muslim beliefs. MORE’s government said that because her Muslims made her colleagues uncomfortable, according to the Sunday Times.

Director Mark Spencer denied the allegations on Twitter over the weekend, claiming that Ghani’s allegations were about him, the Associated Press reported.

“In order not to let other Whips get involved in this matter, I am revealing that Nusrat Ghani MP is the one who claimed this evening. These accusations are completely false and I regard them as defamatory. I have never used the following words. I ” he tweeted.

Prime Minister Boris Johnsons’ office said it had met with Ghaniin 2020 to discuss her concerns and provide an opportunity to file a formal complaint. But Ghani did not, the AP added.

In a statement, Ghani told the Associated Press that Johnson said he could not get involved and that he had proposed using the internal Conservative complaints process.

What I wanted is for the government to take this matter seriously and investigate it appropriately so that other colleagues don’t put up with it, she added.

Education Minister Nadim Jahawi supported Ghani’s request to investigate the matter.

“There is no room for Islamophobia or racism in any form in our Conservative Party,” Zahawi tweeted. Nus Ghani is a friend, colleague, and outstanding MP. This must be properly investigated and racism must be eradicated.

Johnson has been increasingly criticized recently after reports of attending a party in his Downing Street office during the height of the COVID-19 lockdown.

Johnson later apologized for the meeting, but a conservative British MP claimed last week that the government was trying to “blackmail” MPs who wanted the prime minister to step down.
