Health Minister Nadine Dorries tested positive for coronavirus and fears for Boris Johnson's health were sparked after attending an event hosted by the Prime Minister at No. 10 last week Wednesday.
Ms. Dorries is believed to have fallen ill on Friday, and over the weekend, the "classic symptoms" of the disease appeared.
The Minister of Health is now "self-insulating".
The Minister of Health said in a statement: "I can confirm that I have tested positive for coronavirus. As soon as I was informed, I took all the recommended precautions and I self-isolated at home.
“Public Health England has started a detailed search for contacts and the ministry and my parliamentary office are following their advice carefully.
"I would like to thank PHE and the wonderful NHS staff who provided advice and support."
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said, "I am truly sorry to hear that Nadine has tested positive for the coronavirus.
"She did the right thing by isolating herself from home, and the staff of the NHS and PHE were brilliant.
"We all wish her good luck as she recovers. I understand why people are worried about this disease.
"We will do everything we can to keep people safe, based on the best science possible."
