WATCH: Pete Wishart denounces Boris Johnson's unpopularity in Scotland
BORIS Johnson was asked to explain his extreme unpopularity in Scotland to Prime Minister's questions.
He asked, "Can the Prime Minister explain to me why he is so singularly unpopular in Scotland? He lost half of Scottish deputies, support for independence is at its highest level.
"Is it because he thinks he can say no to a nation?" Or is it because the boastful buffoonery is just chatting with the Scottish people? "
Johnson responded by saying that support for a Yes vote is declining.
This is despite the latest YouGov and Survation surveys, which recorded 50% independence support.

He also wrongly called the SNP the "Scottish Nationalist Party" and said that Scotland had the highest taxes in the UK.
This comes after Scottish secretary Alister Jack admitted that most Scottish people pay less tax than their counterparts in the rest of the UK.

Johnson added: "Perhaps his bluff and swagger [pointing to Wishart] conceals the abject failures of the Scottish nationalist government."
