Sir Paul McCartney announces first UK gig since headlining Glastonbury | Ent & Arts News

Sir Paul McCartney has announced dates for his first UK tour in six years, with the Beatles star back on stage just before Christmas.

His Got Back tour will stop in Manchester and London, marking his first UK tour since 2018 and his first live performance of any kind in the UK since headlining Glastonbury two years ago.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

Sir Paul said: “We’re thrilled to be completing our year and 2024 tour dates in the UK. It’s always a special feeling to perform in our home city.”

“This is going to be a great way to end the year. Let’s get ready for the party. I’d love to see you.”

He is scheduled to play at Manchester's Co-Op Live arena on December 14 and 15 and at London's O2 on December 18 and 19.

His Got Back show includes music from throughout his career, from the Beatles to Wings, as well as his solo material.

He also revealed dates for shows in France and Spain this October, after revealing upcoming shows in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru.

His two-hour headlining set at Glastonbury in June 2022 saw him become the festival's oldest solo headliner and featured surprise appearances from Bruce Springsteen and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.

He embarked on his Got Back tour in 2022 after playing 16 shows across the US before appearing at Glastonbury.

In 2023, the group performed 18 times across Australia, Mexico and Brazil.
