2024 US Olympic Track and Field Trials, Night 2: Sha'Carri Richardson and Ryan Crouser heading to Paris

On the second night of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Team Trials, Sha'Carri Richardson and Ryan Crouser punched their tickets to Paris. Both stars are officially on their way to the Olympics.

The second night featured the finals of the women's 100m, men's shot put, women's triple jump and men's decathlon at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Richardson heads to her first Olympics after claiming a victory in the 100m in a world best time of 10.71 seconds. Her training partners, Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry, also placed in the top three to join her in Paris.

In the men's shot put, Crouser battled through his injury-riddled spring to win the final, edging out Joe Kovacs and Payton Otterdahl. All three men are returning to the Olympics.

Olympic places were also secured in the decathlon, as 23-year-old Heath Baldwin stunned the field to win the men's decathlon with 8,625 points. He is on the U.S. Olympic team alongside Zach Ziemek, now only the second American to make three Olympic decathlon teams, and Harrison Williams.

Jasmine Moore won the women's triple jump to seal her second Olympic team spot alongside Ketura Orji and Tori Franklin.

In the men's 100m, Noah Lyles, Fred Kerley and Christian Coleman all won their heats to secure a spot in the semifinals. As did Yared Nuguse in the men's 1,500m and Kaylyn Brown and Shamier Little in the women's 400m.
