The BBC has exposed offensive comments by British reform candidates.

Eight of Britain's reform candidates have made a wide range of offensive comments about women online in the past, the BBC has revealed.

The comments included disparaging remarks about slain MP Jo Cox, former Prime Minister Theresa May and a black reality TV contestant.

The comments were posted between 2011 and 2023.

Both Reform UK and the candidates involved were approached for comment.

Earlier this week, the party said it planned to sue the company it hired to vet potential lawmakers.

This article contains strong language.

Among the candidates whose comments the BBC uncovered was Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West's Simon Moorehead, who wrote to X:[Jo] “Cox was a scary woman with bad ideas.”

He added, “No one wanted her to die.”

The full list of candidates for the Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West constituency can be viewed here.

Mark Cole, candidate for Harwich and North Essex, said in a Facebook post: “She accidentally switched to the X-Factory. The only thing notable is the black bint…. whoever she is.”

Mr Cole deleted the comments after being approached by the BBC.

Andrew Banwell, the candidate for Thornbury and Yate, called Mrs May Merkels Bitch in X.

Angela Merkel previously served as German Chancellor, whose term overlapped with Mrs May's time in Downing Street.

Melksham and Devizes candidate Malcolm Cupis accused dancing women of “acting like gutter whores” and called one woman a “malicious hag” in a music video posted to YouTube.

Mr Cupis told the BBC he stood by his comments.

“Children should not be shown this disgusting performance,” he said of the music video. It degrades girls and promotes misogyny in boys.

Gutter prostitutes are actually nothing compared to how the performers portray themselves, he said.

He told the BBC the “old woman” comment was a warning to others about “intemperance” in their use of social media. He added that he has no regrets and will not apologize.

He said people want politicians who speak frankly and are not bound by political correctness. The media must stop its endless witch hunt against politicians who make human mistakes.

Southampton Test candidate John Edwards called the women on ITV2's Love Island 'thick tarts' and former Lib Dem leader Joe Swinson a 'hump bird'.

Sam Woods-Brass, candidate for Houghton and Sunderland South, shared a photo of a raw chicken which he said reminded him of erotic images of his girlfriend.

He deleted the post after being contacted by the BBC.

Ian Gribbin, the candidate for Bexhill and Battle, whom we previously revealed, wrote that Britain should have remained neutral in the Second World War, posted a series of comments on the UnHerd website that included the following: Now every man pays for every woman. We pay 80% of the taxes and you take 80%. The fact that you can write on your technological device is all up to us.

The cultural feminization of the West is a disaster of epic proportions. We have elevated female traits, especially neuroticism, to the highest level. Hysteria has now become commonplace. Evidence from repeated psychological tests is that women are horrified to receive criticism.

Modern feminism belongs to the sewer of self-loathing from which it came. You say it yourself, but you are all jealous of male freedom.

Ynys Mon candidate Emmett Jenner shared the following post from Conservative Party headquarters: PM: I want girls growing up today to know that they can achieve anything they want.

Ms Jenner commented on the post: Like fertilizing an egg and providing a Y chromosome.

In response to a request for comment, Mr Jenner told the BBC: It's a parody account and you can see it's pulling Michael out of the Conservative Party.

“I’m not going to take anything at face value. It’s all just a deliberately provocative finish to elicit a bewildering reaction.

Reform UK has already faced criticism over social media posts by some of its candidates that have emerged since the start of the campaign.

This week the party threatened legal action against Vetting.com, the company it hired in April at a cost of 144,000 to vet hundreds of candidates.

Party chairman Richard Tice accused the company of “promising a deep dive” but “delivering absolutely nothing”.

Vetting.com said in a statement that it expected the election to take place in the fall and that the work would have taken all summer to complete.

It also said automated systems would need the consent of the candidates involved to carry out the required checks.

Asked about the vetting issue in a BBC Panorama interview broadcast on Friday, Mr Farage said: [Reform UK] We desperately wanted people to stand up, so people stood up, and we hired a big veterinarian who didn't do that.

“I can assure you that when Labor reviews applications, when the Conservatives review applications, they will have to reject a lot of people.”

He also said that the party was “stitching its candidates in the most extraordinary way, using quotes taken out of context.”

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
