Woman arrested for allegedly filming prison guard having sex with inmate

A woman has been arrested after footage emerged showing a correctional officer having sex with an inmate.

The footage, which police were already investigating after being leaked online, was reportedly filmed at London's scandal-plagued HMP Wandsworth.

It is not known when the footage was filmed, but it has come under recent scrutiny after being widely circulated on social media.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed on Saturday that a woman was arrested on Friday on suspicion of inappropriate conduct in public office.

A Met Police spokesperson said: A police investigation began on June 28 after police were made aware of video believed to have been taken inside HMP Wandsworth.

On June 28, a woman was arrested on charges of misconduct in public office. She was detained by police.

Inquiries continue. We remain in close contact with the Ministry of Justice.

In May, the watchdog called for urgent action to be taken at Wandsworth Prison amid concerns about security failures, overcrowding and problems with drugs, violence and self-harm.

A prison spokesperson said: Staff corruption is unacceptable and the former prison officer who was allegedly seen in this video has been reported to police. It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate.

HMP Wandsworth made national news in September following the alleged escape of terror suspect Daniel Khalif.
