Rupert Murdoch's Fox Corporation is launching a free streaming service in the UK to compete with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+.

A service called Tubi is funded by advertising and offers personalized streaming.

According to Fox, the service is already available in North America and has 80 million active users.

Fox said there would be more than 20,000 films and TV episodes available, adding it was “one of the largest and most diverse content libraries in the UK”.

While specific titles haven't been revealed, Fox says users can expect blockbusters, original stories, and hidden gems.

The company said it was “committed to listening to what resonates with UK fans” and would “give them more of what they love”.

Programs from major distributors including Disney, Lionsgate, NBCUniversal, and Sony Pictures Entertainment will be aired.

Tubi Originals, including 'Big Mood' starring Nicola Coughlan, will also be screened alongside Hollywood films, 'Modern British Classics', Bollywood, Nollywood and arthouse films.
