The U.S. Olympic men's soccer team has been announced. Here are the players selected.

The roster for the United States men's soccer team that will represent the United States at the Paris Summer Olympics was announced Monday, marking the first time since 2008 that Americans have participated in the Olympic soccer tournament.

The 18-man squad will include defenders Miles Robinson and Walker Zimmerman and forward Djordje Mihailovic, both 18. All three players were not selected by the senior national team, which was eliminated in the group stage of the Copa America earlier this month.

Olympic football is largely restricted to players under the age of 23, with each team only allowed to have three players over the age limit.

“We couldn’t be happier to have this group of great players and great people representing us at the Olympic Games,” head coach Marko Mitrović said in a statement. “This is a special moment for all of us because they have worked their entire lives to reach this point.”

Fifteen players on the roster have international appearances with the United States men's national soccer team.

Zimmerman, 31, is the team's top player with 42 international caps. His last game for the United States came against Canada in the CONCACAF Nations League final in June 2023.

Robinson, 27, was part of the U.S. squad for the Copa America but did not get any playing time. He has made 29 international appearances.

Mihailovic, 25, has 11 international appearances but has not played for the national team since the CONCACAF Gold Cup semi-final loss to Panama in July 2023.

Other players with senior national team experience include midfielders Gianluca Busio, Tanner Tessmann and Jack McGlynn; defenders John Tolkin, Kevin Paredes, Caleb Wiley and Benjamin Cremaschi; forwards Taylor Booth, Paxten Aaronson and Duncan McGuire; and goalkeepers Patrick Schulte and Gaga Slonina.

Defenders Maximilian Dietz and Nathan Harriel and forward Griffin Yow have never played for the senior team.

Cremaschi, at 19, is the youngest player on the roster and is also eligible for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The roster includes 10 players from MLS, two from newly promoted Venezia, two from the Dutch Eredivisie, one from the Premier League, one from the German Bundesliga, one from the German second division and one from the Belgian first division. All but Dietz have played in MLS at some point or at an MLS development academy.

The replacements named to the roster are goalkeeper John Pulskamp, ​​defender Jacob Davis, midfielder Josh Atencio and forward Johan Gomez.

FIFA does not require clubs to release players for the Olympics.

The Americans will open their tournament on July 24 against host France, then face New Zealand and Guinea. The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
