After years of feverish rumors, Sony is finally set to release the high-spec gaming behemoth PS5 Pro that will blow all gaming consoles out of the water. Pre-orders for the console went live exclusively on PlayStation Directon on September 26, and there was Oasis-level mayhem, leading to yet another PS5 stock shortage from hell.

As well as the regular PS5 Pro, Sony has released a limited-edition 30th Anniversary version of the console that includes several accessories and merchandise. Made in OGPlayStation 1's legendary grayscale colorway, it sold out in minutes, with scalpers listing it on eBay for 10 times the price.

The gaming giant also released a new PS5 SlimandPlayStation Portal in the same gray color palette, while throwback versions of the DualSense Edge and DualSense wireless controllers are both sold out. Sony has manufactured only 12,300 PS5 Pro consoles worldwide, in gray with a unique number engraved on the side.

But while the 30th Anniversary Edition console was sure to sell out quickly, we didn't expect pre-orders for the regular PS5 Pro to sell out as quickly. It is currently sold out across the UK. Here's everything you need to know about PS5 Pro pre-orders and when the next restock will occur.

Sony has opened pre-orders for the PS5 Pro and PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition in the UK from 10am on Thursday 26 September. It's only available for pre-order via PlayStation Direct and stocks are sold out. The PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition bundle (959.99, Playstation.com) sold out in minutes, and the regular PS5 Pro (699.99, Playstation.com) sold out at 1 p.m.

We don't expect Sony to restock the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition, but you will be able to pre-order the PS5 Pro on Thursday, October 10th, when third-party retailers including Amazon, Currys, John Lewis and more start taking pre-orders of their own. There will be other opportunities. -command.

PlayStation Direct may begin another round of PS5 Pro pre-orders next week, but that's not guaranteed. The PS5 Pro will be available in stores and begin shipping on November 7th. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of PlayStation, Sony released a series of consoles and accessories using the legacy gray color palette. All feature the classic multi-color PlayStation logo. The main product is the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition bundle, but it seems difficult to restock.

Priced at $959.99, the full bundle includes the old PS5 Pro with a 2TB SSD, a gray DualSense controller, a DualSenseEdge controller, a DualSense charging station, a vertical stand, and a console cover for the disk drive (sold separately). It also comes with an original PlayStation controller-style cable connector housing, four PlayStation-shaped cable ties, a PlayStation sticker, and a limited edition PlayStation poster (one of 30 possible designs and a PlayStation clip). The bundles sold out in minutes. It's currently being resold on eBay for up to 10,000.

Sony also released the PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary Edition console bundle (433.99, Playstation.com) in OG colors. The PS5 Slim Digital Edition with 1TB of storage comes with a gray DualSense controller, vertical stand, disk drive cover (sold separately) and the same goodies as the PS5 Pro bundle.

On the accessories side, Sony has released the anniversary edition PlayStation Portal (209.99, Playstation.com), which is still in stock at the time of this writing, as well as the gray DualSense Edge Controller (219.99, Playstation.com) and the gray DualSense. All controllers (69.99, Playstation.com) are sold out.

If you missed out on one of the limited edition products, two of them will be restocked in the UK at a later date.

Both the PS5 Slim Digital Edition Bundle and DualSense 30th Anniversary Edition Controller will be available for pre-order from third-party retailers starting Thursday, October 10, so mark your calendars. The PS5 Pro looks like a mix between the original PS5 and PS5 Slim. Sony says it's the same height as the original console and the same width as the PS5 Slim. The visual difference is that the PS5 Pro sports a wider grille in the center.

The console does not include a disc drive, but you can add a Blu-Ray disc drive (99.99, Currys.co.uk) for an additional price, bringing the price up to $800. The PS5 Pro itself comes with a 2TB internal SSD. That's double the storage capacity of the PS5 Slim, one DualSense wireless controller, and a copy of Astros Playroom.

PS5 Pro is a significant improvement over the original PS5, with pure and free performance. Boasting a larger GPU, Sony says the console's rendering performance has improved by 45%, allowing games to run buttery smooth with improved fidelity at high frame rates. The GPU has 67% more compute units and 28% faster memory than the current PS5 console.

Ray tracing has also been improved. PS5 Pro offers more dynamic reflections and refractions of light. Sony used clips from Gran Turismo 7 and Hogwarts Legacy to demonstrate these differences. At 60fps you can see reflections between cars, and in Hogwarts Legacy there are better reflections and shadow casting. Sony says this system allows it to project beams at double, and sometimes triple, the speed of the PS5 Slim.

Lastly, Sony has introduced AI-based upscaling in the form of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, which uses machine learning-based technology to deliver greater image clarity and increased detail to games.

One of the new features is PS5 Pro Game Boost, which stabilizes and improves the performance of 8,500 backwards compatible PS4 games that can be played on PS5. The improved image quality feature also increases the resolution of PS4 games. The PS5 Pro also features a WiFi 7 chip, which is an improvement over the Wifi 6 chip in the original PS5.
