Harris does not plan to campaign with Joe Biden before the election. The decision was mutual, the anonymous Harris campaign and White House officials told NBC News. The president will instead help Harris by leveraging his long-standing political connections. The most important role he can play is doing his job as president, a White House official said.

Harris spoke with Rev. Al Sharpton during a one-on-one interview in Atlanta on MSNBC's PoliticsNation, where she discussed the latest poll suggesting a decline in her support from black men. This narrative about the type of support we receive from black men simply doesn't pan out in reality, she said. I have to earn everyone's vote, regardless of race or gender.
