RuPaul's Drag Race UK and Dancing on Ice star Vivienne has died aged 32.

RuPaul's British Drag Race star James Lee Williams, better known as The Vivienne, died this weekend at the age of 32, a spokeswoman said.

Their publicist described the star as a “loved, warm-hearted, amazing person.”

Simon Jones said on social media: “We are very sad to report that our beloved James Lee Williams (The Vivienne) passed away this weekend.”

“James was an incredibly loved, warm-hearted and amazing person.

“Their family is heartbroken over the loss of their son, brother and uncle. They are very proud of the amazing things James has accomplished in their lives and careers.”

“We will not be releasing further details.

“We ask that James’ family now be given the time and privacy they need to process and mourn their grief.”

Williams, who was born in Wales, adopted her drag name because she was known to wear Vivienne Westwood clothing.

Vivienne is best known for appearing on the hit competition show RuPaul's Drag Race UK, winning the first series in 2019 and appearing in the 2022 All-Stars edition.

About their drag style, The Vivienne said: My style is like a Scouse wife who made a lot of money. She moved to LA, ruined everything and had to move back to Liverpool.

I like to look really fierce, but I also like to be funny on stage, so I think combining old school and new school works well.

Comedy is definitely my trump card. My favorite trick in drag is vocal mimicry, so you can imitate everyone from Kim Woodburn to Cilla Black to Donald Trump. We will do it for you at a reasonable price.

After winning in 2019, The Vivienne added: “That crown would look really nice. You could see me doing the dishes in there.”

The Vivienne made it to the finale alongside Baga Chipz and Divina De Campo, with judge Graham Norton saying The Vivienne had it all in his final critique before the winner was chosen.

In 2023, they competed on ITV's Dancing on Ice, coming in third place, saying it was an “honor” to be the first drag performers to compete in a skating competition.

Williams played the Wicked Witch of the West in the UK and Ireland tour of The Wizard Of Oz musical, and reprized the role in the West End at the Gillian Lynne Theater last year.

RuPauls Drag Race UK said it was very saddened to hear of The Vivienne's death.

In a post on social media, the TV show said it was inspired by Williams' talent, humor and dedication to the craft of drag.

Season 2 contestant Bimini Bon Boulash said on Instagram, “I’m really shocked. “I am truly sorry,” he wrote.

RuPauls Drag Race judge Michelle Visage said she was absolutely heartbroken by the news of The Viviennes' death.

Visage wrote alongside a photo of them together: It's heartbreaking. I don't know how to tell you how I feel.

Dear @thevivienne_ Let me go back to when I started coming here to the UK. You were always there, always smiling, always giving, always on point.

Your laugh, your wit, your talent, your charm. I loved everything, but most of all I loved your friendship.

You have been a lighthouse to many. Watching you make your West End debut was amazing to me, seeing your dreams come true before my eyes. I've been lucky to know you and have laughed with you many times.

Mr. Jones, a publicist, left the following tribute on Instagram: “These are words I never wanted to use. Viv was a close friend, a customer and someone I loved dearly.”

“From the moment I met them in 2019, I knew we could create magic together and I became their manager.

“Their talent was incredible and the light they brought to every room was amazing.

“No one in my life has made me laugh as much as Viv. Their comic genius and wit was unmatched by anyone.

The memorial continued: I am so proud and lucky that Viv has been a big part of my life every day for the past five years.

“It’s a tragedy that their careers are just beginning. In musical theatre, Viv has found a space and a career in which they can love, excel and succeed.

“I am heartbroken and devastated to hear this news. Kill my wonderful friend. You left us too soon.”

Coronation Street star Antony Cotton says he is incredibly saddened by the news of the death of James Lee Williams, known as The Vivienne.

“This is incredibly sad,” Cotton said in a post to X. James was a real pleasure to have around. We loved him x.

A man who attacked a drag star in a hate crime in June 2023 was sentenced to probation in January.

Liverpool Magistrates' Court ruled that unemployed scaffolder Alan Whitfield's one-punch attack on Williams was homophobic.

Williams' face was bruised and bruised for a week, but luckily he was a six-foot-tall former rugby player who could throw a punch, he told the court.
