Hundreds of schools across the UK were forced to close after being covered in snow and ice overnight.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for most of England on Wednesday, with the country facing widespread disruption.

Schools and daycare centers had to close the first week after winter break.

A snow warning has been issued for most of southern England, including south London, with up to 10cm of snow expected to fall. Snow and ice warnings have also been issued for western and northern England from Wednesday to Thursday.
