In a sign of divisions within Reform UK, 10 lawmakers have resigned from the far-right party in protest against Nigel Farage's leadership.

Derbyshire councilors said Reform UK was being run in an autocratic manner and attacked Farage for showing disloyalty to long-term members.

The resignations mean Reform England's total number of MPs has been reduced from 50 to 40, with Derbyshire MPs saying they cannot continue in good conscience under Farage's leadership.

We believe that the current party leadership is either incompetent or malicious and we have lost all trust in the leadership and its structure.

The resignation comes amid an ongoing rift between Elon Musk and Farage over the party's relationship with Nazi Tommy Robinson, who sought to build a fascist street movement.

Musk praised Reform UK, but Farage was careful to distance himself from Robinson. He then attacked Farage for this decision, saying, “The Reform Party needs a new leader.” Farage doesn't have what it takes.

The anti-apartheid movement that repeatedly pushed Robinson aside has made it more difficult for Farage to embrace fascists. But Farage went on to say that Tommy Robinson was waging a campaign against Islam.

Most of what he says is correct and he should not be locked up in solitary confinement even if he repeatedly breaks the law.

Some in Reform UK who are not currently part of the leadership want to embrace Robinson more openly.

The resigned lawmakers supported former joint deputy leader Ben Habib. They portray him as an unwitting outcast and someone who truly represents the vision and values ​​that led us to Reform UK.

Habib has expressed a desire for Reform UK to have a closer relationship with Robinson. He said earlier this week: “I think that in pursuing perhaps sanitary reforms, Nigel Farage is turning his back on the people who created them in the first place.” Speaking to GB News, Habib said he would consider running as a leadership candidate.

The tensions reflect the varying traction that UK reform is experiencing. On the one hand, it is trying to become a more respected political party through its push toward professionalization. The drive is intended to purge the party of candidates and members deemed a threat to its push toward mainstream popularity.

On the other hand, there is a fascist street movement that coalesces around Tommy Robinson. And figures such as Habib see Robinson's support base as something Reform UK can tap into and mobilize.

Habib is not alone in this view, but Farage and current deputy leader Richard Tice are pushing them to the limit.

Reform UK 2024 London mayoral candidate Howard Cox left the party on Thursday, claiming he had been told to stay away from Robinson. Otherwise, you will be disfellowshipped.
