A weather map shows the exact dates when a snow bomb will fall on the UK.

Temperatures this weekend plummeted to -19 degrees Celsius, making it the coldest January night in the UK for 15 years.

But the cold is about to end, and the air will get a little warmer heading into Monday.

But it won't be long before freezing temperatures return. A weather map from WXCharts suggests a five-day snowstorm is possible by the end of the month.

Snow is expected to return to the UK for the first time on January 23, hitting northern Scotland and western England and Wales.

From January 26th, snow will continue to fall in the north and heavy rain is expected to fall in the southern region as well.

The snow and rain will ease slightly heading into Monday, but heavy snow will fall again across the country on January 28th.

The worst-hit areas are the Scottish Highlands, where up to 10 centimeters per hour are expected.

The Met Office says the potential for ice and snow will continue into February.

“The dominant flow from the Atlantic is likely to be unsettled, milder and windier than the average period,” according to the long-term forecast for January 26 to February 9.

“This means that rain and strong winds are likely to affect most, if not all, parts of the UK at times, although the wettest and windiest weather will probably occur in the north and west directions.

“However, the potential remains for a brief northeastern cold spell associated with frost, ice and snow following deep lows across the region.”
