Survivors of sexual violence were among tens of thousands of people who took to the streets across the UK in solidarity with all oppressed women and girls around the world.

About 5,000 protesters walked alongside loved ones and strangers in London on Saturday, chanting 'My body, my choices' and 'What do we want?' They shouted slogans such as: safety. When do we want it? Now, as we read the intricate home-made signs, we still got up and the women held up half the sky.

Anne-Marie Langeveld, 42, from Watford with her mother, pointed to statistics showing that one in three women and girls around the world suffer physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). ).
