Snow could fall in parts of England as the Met Office warned temperatures could plummet to -2C in some areas overnight, with eight cold warnings in place across the UK.

UKHSA has issued a new yellow alert for the North East, North West, East, Yorkshire, The Humber, East and West Midlands regions of England.

All of these warnings came into effect at 6pm on January 17th and are scheduled to end at 9am on January 21st.

Temperatures are expected to be mild during the day, but frost and fog are expected to increase on Saturday night, with colder temperatures expected on Sunday morning.

The Met Office predicts temperatures will be around -1 degrees in the Midlands and Yorkshire, and just 5 degrees in southern England.
