We tried to see the back of Storm Eowyn, but the miserable British weather just wasn't keeping up.

Eowyn (pronounced Ay-oh-win) hit the UK yesterday with record-breaking winds of 114mph, equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane.

Even as the storm moved into the Norwegian Sea, the Met Office issued several new yellow weather warnings for strong winds, snow and ice.

There will be at least one yellow warning in place from today until Tuesday, meaning the weather is likely to affect you.

A new warning for wind, snow and ice has been issued for Northern Ireland and western Scotland from 6pm until 10am the following day. About 10cm of slush would form in the Scottish Highlands, forecasters said.

A second yellow weather warning says strong winds of up to 55mph will hit north-west Scotland today.

These types of gusts are not uncommon in the area, but the impact could be greater than usual after Storm Eowyn, the Met Office said.

A third warning for strong westerly winds has been issued for the tip of the Highlands and the Orkney and Shetland Islands. If in effect until 3pm, public transport may be restricted and power outages may occur.

Another storm system is expected to bring a similar risk to the UK tomorrow and Monday. Precipitation is mainly heavy and abundant.

Up to 50mm of rain will soak London and parts of the Midlands, north-west, south-west, south-east and eastern England. A rain yellow warning is in place from 8am tomorrow until 6am on Monday.

Due to recent heavy rains, these additional rainfall could cause surface water and river flooding in some areas, Met Office officials stressed.

A yellow wind warning will apply for most of the west coast of England and Northern Ireland from 8am to 3pm on Sunday. Winds of up to 70 mph can create waves and spray along the coast.

However, a separate warning has been issued for Northern Ireland for winds of up to 60mph from 10am to 7pm tomorrow. Given the ongoing recovery efforts following Storm Owin, the impact from winds this strong could be more widespread than generally expected, the warning said.

A storm warning is in place for north-west England, south-west England, Northern Ireland, Wales and south-west Scotland from 8am on Sunday until 3pm on Monday.

Wind gusts of 70 to 80 mph are possible in the hills and around the coast of the North Island.

Another yellow warning for heavy rain is in place from 8am tomorrow until 6am on Monday, warning that flooding may occur.

But once that warning stops, another warning will come into force for rain hitting Wales. Movement disruptions are likely on both roads and public transport.

Finally, a yellow warning for strong and gusty winds applies from 6am on Monday to 6am on Tuesday for south-west England and Wales, as well as eastern England, south-east England and London.

The record-breaking winds were just the beginning during Storm Eowyn, which recorded 114mph at Mace Head along the Irish coast at 5am.

Winds reaching nearly 100 mph struck Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northern and western parts of England and Wales, knocking out power lines and leaving a million people without electricity.

The Met Office has issued several weather warnings, including a rare red alert, as winds turn ordinary objects into dangerous projectiles. In County Donegal, a man died after a tree fell on his car.

Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless.
