A person of interest was appointed in the investigation into a disappeared student from the 20 -year -old American college who disappeared last week in the Dominican Republic during the spring holidays with friends.

The missing woman, Sudiksha Konanki, went to Punta Cana with five other people last Monday, according to the national police for the Dominican Republic. Three days later, Konanki entered a beach with a group at 4:15 am Thursday near a RIU hotel, according to a surveillance video. Konanki disappeared at that time, said the Dominican national police.

Konanki is a resident of the county of Loudoun, Virginia, and a junior at the University of Pittsburgh to study the biological sciences and chemistry on the pre-mediated song, the University told NPR.
