A statement from the Alexandria police said that Ber was confirmed dead after the police responded to Bloc 900 from Beverly Drive in Alexandria, Virginia, around 9:18 am

Officers were initially called to the scene in response to a woman who does not respond.

A cause of death has not yet been disclosed by the office of the chief medical examiner of Virginia. An investigation is underway.

Erik Siebert, who is the current American lawyer for the eastern district of Virginia, remembered Aber as an “unrivaled as a leader, mentor and prosecutor”.

“It is simply irreplaceable as a human being. We remain in admiration for what it has accomplished in it too brief in this world,” he said in a statement. “Jess was a proud Virginian from high school to college and throughout her career.”

Aber was appointed US prosecutor for the Virginia Oriental District during the mandate of former President Joe Biden in office. It had been confirmed unanimously to serve in publication.

During his stay in this role, Aber headed staff of 300 prosecutors, civilian litigants and support staff through the State. Aber resigned from this position in January when President Donald Trump came into office.
