Jessica Aber, the former American lawyer in the Oriental District of Virginia (EDVA), was found dead at her home on Saturday, officials announced.

The body of the 43 -year -old lawyer, who resigned after American president Donald Trump, took office in January, was discovered at his home in Alexandria in Virginia.

An investigation is underway surrounding the circumstances of his death, police said in a statement.

“This morning, around 9:18 am, the Alexandria police responded to Bloc 900 of Beverley Drive for the report of an insensitive woman. The police located a deceased woman,” the statement said.

The Office of the Chief Legalist of Virginia will determine the cause and the mode of death, he added.

American lawyer out of Virginia's eastern district, Erik S Siebert, said that he had “a broken heart beyond the words” to learn more about the death of Mrs. Aber.

“She was unequaled as a leader, mentor and prosecutor, and she is simply irreplaceable as a human being. We remain in admiration for what she has accomplished in her too brief in this world. Her professionalism, her grace and her legal sense established the norm,” he said in a press release.

“Although we are devastated by this loss, each of us in the Oriental District of Virginia will turn to his example and try to respect this standard. Jess was a proud Virginian from high school to college and throughout her career. She loved Edva and Edva loved her.

Jessica Aber was appointed prosecutor of the United States for the Virginia Oriental District by President Joe Biden in August 2021.

It began its service in EDVA in 2009 as an American assistant lawyer, pursuing financial fraud, public corruption, violent crimes and the exploitation of children.
