Canada has updated its travel guidelines, adding a registration requirement for Canadians who stay in the United States for more than 30 days. The rule, as of April 11, comes from an executive decree of the Trump era applying the existing immigration law.

Canadians who stay in America for more than 30 days must register with the United States government according to advice, which was changed on Friday. The rule also applies to other foreign nationals.

The rule will take effect on April 11.

The obligation stems from an executive decree issued by President Donald Trump on his first day in power, leading the Ministry of Homeland Security to ensure that non-citizens comply with the parties of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
