The United States and Russia should make a joint declaration after talks focused on the ceasefire agreement in the Black Sea

The United States and Russia are expected to publish a joint declaration on Tuesday morning after discussions in Saudi Arabia aimed at concluding a Maritime-Blait-Blait-Fire Agreement of the Black Sea, said familiar sources with the case at CBS News.

The statement was to be released at 4 am in Washington, DC, and 11 a.m. in Moscow, two of the sources said.

Although the details of the declaration were not immediately clear, the reports shared with the Trump administration of the American technical team of Riyadh seemed optimistic, according to sources.

Ukrainian officials have also been informed, according to one of the sources.

The French news agency AFP reports that a Ukrainian source says that Ukrainian and American officials held another series of talks in Riyadh on Tuesday. “We are still working with the Americans,” a member of the Ukrainian delegation told a small media group, AFP.

A Russian negotiator told the TASS state news agency on Tuesday that Moscow would continue “useful” talks with the United States on the Ukrainian conflict and seek to involve the UN and the other nations, according to AFP.

A previous agreement negotiated by the UN and Turkey, which Russia left in 2023, had allowed maritime navigation in the Black Sea, allowing the two countries to export cereals.
