The protection of the rights of ordinary and respectful Americans is a high priority for this administration.

Within the framework of a broader examination of laws related to restrictive firearms in California and in other states, the Division of Civil Rights of the Ministry of Justices has today announced an investigation into the Los Angeles County Sheriff department to determine whether it engages in a scheme or a practice of depriving ordinary and respectful Californians of their rights of the second amendment. A recent decision of the Federal Court revealed that the law and the facts [we]is clearly in favor of two private complainants who challenged the long delays of eighteen months that the Los Angeles County Sheriff department had imposed during their concealed requests for the concealed handgun. And the division of civil rights has reason to believe that these two complainants are not the only residents of the County of Los Angeles who undergo similar delays which are unduly in charge or effectively refusing the rights of the second amendment of the people of Los Angeles.

The Supreme Court has repeatedly recognized that the second amendment is not a second class right. And in the past two decades, the Supreme Court has recognized that the second amendment is a fundamental and individual constitutional right and has seized multiple opportunities to strengthen the protections of the second amendment for ordinary and respectful citizens.

Some states and localities, however, have resisted this recent pro-second amendment. And California was a particularly blatant offender. In response to the recent Supreme Court Caselaw, California has promulgated new legislation to further restrict the capacity of ordinary Californians and laws to keep and bear their arms. And many Californian localities seem to impose additional charges beyond those required by the law of the State of California, in particular by subjecting ordinary Californians and respectful of the laws at expensive costs and long times of weight associated with requests for concealed handgun licenses.

This Ministry of Justice will not be dotted while states and localities violate the rights of ordinary and respectful Americans, said Prosecutor General Pamela Bondi. The second amendment is not a second class right, and under my surveillance, the ministry will actively apply the second amendment, just as it actively applies other fundamental constitutional rights.

The Attorney General Bondi hopes that states and localities will voluntarily adopt their duty to protect the rights of the second amendment of their citizens.
