Chinese exports plunge as American retailers cancel orders in the midst of steep rates

Chinese exports to the United States plunged in April, because high prices on China make it too expensive for many American retailers to import goods from the country.

President Trump increased his trade war with Beijing in April, hikeing Chinese property up to 145%. China retaliated with 125% samples from American goods.

Consequently, Chinese freight shipments to the United States in April fell 21% compared to the same period a year earlier, the data published Friday by the general administration of customs emissions by China. Chinese exports to the countries of Southeast Asia have jumped from the same amount, according to April data, demonstrating how Mr. Trump's prices have already changed the commercial models.
