Super Tuesday was marked by a wave of support from former presidential candidates, a surprise wave for Vice President Joseph Biden and several state victories for Bernie.

All signs point to a race for two with Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Bernie Sanders almost shoulder to shoulder in the current delegate count. These two Democratic leaders represent separate wings of the party, drawing from very different segments of the electorate to garner their support. Who makes up the Biden coalition and the Sanders contingent and what do the most recent primary results say about the support of each candidate?

Maria Hinojoher, host of Latino United States, wonders how much of Biden's support comes from renewed enthusiasm or simply from the byproduct of a thinning field.

"Is it really a resounding victory for Biden, or is it just that voters had less choice? Said Hinojosa.

She says that while Biden does well with black voters, he has a lot of ground to catch up with Latin voters. Sanders, on the other hand, thrives in states with a large Latin American population.

There is a wide range of issues of concern to Latino voters, says Hinojosa, but an important issue is immigration. Hinojosa says it will be important for Biden to recognize the massive deportations that occurred under the Obama administration.

Philip Bump, national political correspondent of Washington Post, says Biden, had a truly amazing evening on Super Tuesday.

"It was a remarkable turnaround. I don't think people predicted that Biden would have won more than one or two states yesterday. "

He says Biden received wide support among black voters in the south, as well as voters who had waited until later to decide. Bump says these results show Biden's ability to participate in the general election that may have voted for Trump in 2016.

Melanie Goldberg, legal counsel to Justice For Our Neighbors, says immigration will be a key issue in elections in the future, especially for Michigan.

Goldberg says that many Michigan residents may not realize that according to customs and border protection, all of Michigan is considered an international border.
