The latest in Ottawa Public Health COVID-19 (New Coronavirus Infection) As of Thursday, there were no reported cases infected with the virus.

In addition to the news of empty beds, OPH did not add a third new COVID-19 case in the last four days. The local COVID-19 dashboard showed that one case was removed from the city’s total on Thursday afternoon.

The number of active cases of the virus was locally reduced to 22.

According to the city’s Test Task Force, the easternmost Rayfriel COVID-19 test center will reopen on Friday after the site was closed on Thursday due to a technical glitch.

Also on Thursday, the city began booking a walk-in COVID-19 vaccine for residents seeking a first or second dose at a clinic in a selected area.

All city-operated clinics offer a walk-in-based initial dose, but the city releases a daily list of sites where available supplies allow a second dose of drop-in.

The city also encourages residents to raise their second dose as soon as possible.

Most residents booked through the state portal were given automatic dates for follow-up shots in September and October, but the city has several clinics with the Vaccine Task Force in the coming weeks.

“Unfortunately, many of these appointments are for consultation hours and dates that no longer exist due to advances in the city’s vaccine distribution program,” the city said in a statement.
