28 new COVID cases in Cattaraugus County | News
The Cattaraugus County Health Department reported 28 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, with 212 active cases and 27 residents hospitalized.
As of Saturday, there were 701 quarantined contacts in the county, with a 7-day average of positive counties testing for viruses of almost 5%. The county health department did not publish the latest information on COVID cases and tests on Sunday.
The Department of Health is planning two vaccination clinics in October, as cattaraugus county vaccination remains less than 50%.
October 8th, Johnson & Johnson Vaccine and Pfizer Vaccine will be available from noon to 4pm at Bethany Lutheran Church in Olean, Johnson & Johnson Vaccine will be available from 10am to 3pm on October 9th at the Jericotville Autumn Festival increase.
The Pfizer vaccine should be given a second dose within 21 days of the first dose. The Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine that has an emergency use authorization for individuals over the age of 12. Parent / legal guardian consent will be obtained at the time of vaccination.
The Johnson & Johnson vaccine requires a single dose. Individuals over the age of 18 are eligible for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

In Alligainy County, there were 16 new positive cases on Saturday, as posted by the State Department of Health. The 7-day average for positive counties in the test was 4.2%.
Across New York, there were 4,314 new cases on Saturday with a positive rate of 2.39%. The 7-day average of the test was 2.71%.
As of Saturday, the number of New York residents hospitalized was 2,299, a decrease of 46 from the previous day, and the ICU had 548 patients, a decrease of 19 from Friday.
There were 31 new deaths from COVID-19 in the state on Saturday, increasing the total reported and edited by the CDC to 56,462.
