Residents of Hong Kong have shared their feelings about a new national law, planned by the Chinese Communist Party authorities.

China wants to pass a law that would ban “betrayal, secession, sedition and subordination” in Hong Kong.

The law was introduced at the annual National People’s Congress, mostly a decision already taken by rubber stamps by the communist leadership, but it is still the most important political event of the year.

Hong Kong, a semi-autonomous region with economic power, had to enter into law after British control of China came to power in 1997. However, his uneasiness means he has never done it – in 2003 the government tried. back down after 500,000 people took to the streets.

Now, after a wave of protests in Hong Kong last year, Beijing is trying to push for the law.

Critics say the law would deprive Hong Kong of its current rights, rights not seen on the mainland in China.
