Mitchell is currently the Chief Strategy Officer at EQC, where he leads the strategy, policy, government relations, communications, stakeholder engagement and legal services functions across the organization and beyond.
“We are delighted to appoint Tina to the role of CEO,” said Mary Jane Daly, chair of the EQC Board of Directors. “She is an excellent leader and is greatly respected by the team across EQC and our shareholders. We are really looking forward to what she will achieve in the new role and how she will drive EQC forward. Having worked closely with Tina over the past two years, we know she shares the Board of Directors’ commitment to improving readiness for New Zealanders and their resilience in the face of natural hazards, and to ensure that the country’s natural disaster insurance scheme can take care of communities when the next disaster strikes.”
According to the EQC, Mitchell has a strong background in transformation programs, law, politics, and conflict resolution. Previously, she held the position of Deputy Ombudsman in the Banking Ombudsman System and held various turnaround related roles at ACC.
“I truly look forward to leading EQC through an exciting program of work ahead, including continuing to mature the first global partnership we have created with private insurers, continuing work to provide support to the people of Cantabrian, implementing the changes the government proposes to our legislation, developing our cultural capacity and our understanding of how Ao Maori, and to continue our work to improve New Zealand’s resilience against future natural disasters,” said Mitchell.

Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
