APPNA contributes $350,000 to the rehabilitation of Türkiye earthquake victims

The Pakistan Medical Association of North America (APPNA) has donated $350,000 to rehabilitate and build homes for distressed people in Turkey.

The APPNA delegation, accompanied by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Masood Khan, visited the Embassy of Turkey in Washington, D.C. and handed over contributions made by Pakistani doctors from North America to Turkish Ambassador Hasan Murat Mirkan.

Ambassador Masood Khan, speaking on the occasion, stated that when the earthquake struck Turkey, it directly struck Pakistan because Turkey is our second home and our foreign home.

He said APPNA was the most professional organization of Pakistani American doctors in the US with outstanding contributions in the health and disaster relief sector.

Ambassador Masood Khan also praised the statesmanship of his Turkish counterpart, who he said raised Turkey’s status as a nation. He also appreciated Ambassador Marjan’s services to the Pakistani American community and bringing communities together.

Ambassador Hassan Murjan thanked Ambassador Masood Khan and the APPNA leadership for their sentiments and generous contribution which clearly reflected the attachment of the people of Pakistan to Turkey and its people.

He suggested increasing coordination, communication and exchange between the doctors’ communities in the two countries to build a store of knowledge and exchange experiences.

The APPNA delegation welcomed the proposal and noted that the organization is keen to build a strong professional partnership with its Turkish counterparts.
