More than 200 tremors near the island of Santorini prompted the Greek authorities to close schools and inform the residents by avoiding some ports and draining swimming pools.

Earthquake experts say that the increase in seismic activity around the island of Aegah – known as its white buildings and black sandy beaches – is not related to volcanic activity.
