Nearly two weeks after two powerful earthquakes rocked the Coachella Valley, a 3.3-magnitude quake struck the same area over the weekend.

The quake was reported at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at a depth of 2.4 miles about 12 miles northeast of Indio, the USGS said.

The quake was felt mainly in the Coachella Valley, Riverside and San Diego counties.

Sunday’s earthquake struck the same area where a 4.9-magnitude earthquake occurred on January 19, and a 4.2-magnitude earthquake occurred on Wednesday, January 21.

The 4.9 and 4.2 magnitude quakes were felt throughout Southern California, including San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties.

The two larger earthquakes were part of a group of dozens of earthquakes.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.

Earthquake Safety Tips: Follow the California Statewide Earthquake Center’s guidelines for “fall, cover and stabilize” during shaking. Stay indoors and away from windows, glass and heavy objects. Be prepared for aftershocks and follow official guidance from emergency services.
