Northern Ireland launches toughest coronavirus cuts in UK as cases escalate – BBC News
Northern Ireland will impose the harshest coronavirus restrictions anywhere in the UK – as it has one of the highest infection rates in Europe. All the bars and restaurants, all the hairdressers and beauticians will close their doors for a month. Supermarkets and those without a license will not be able to sell alcohol after 8 p.m. They will close the schools for two weeks. However, shops, takeaways, gyms and kindergartens will remain open. Meanwhile, Wales will ban visitors from the most affected places in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. A new three-tier system in England has begun with the Liverpool region at the highest level of alert.
