Companies are urging to clarify the blockade of England – WGAU
London — (AP) — Business leaders requested the UK government on Tuesday to notify the UK government at least a week in advance of the restrictions it will face when the blockade in the UK expires in early December.

Maintaining a localized approach, Scotland went further on Tuesday with news that 11 of its 32 municipalities, including Glasgow, would be at the top of the coronavirus regulation. The limit is set to run from Friday to December 11th.
“Infection rates in all these areas remain stubborn and worrisome,” Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon told Scottish lawmakers.

However, the number of virus-related hospitalizations and deaths will continue to increase due to the delay between someone getting sick and needing medical care. The UK has the highest official virus-related deaths in Europe with over 52,000 people.
Helen Dickinson, CEO of the UK Retail Consortium, said the social and economic consequences of the recent blockade in the UK have been “serious” and many companies are facing bankruptcy.
“The most important thing is to clearly show that the resumption is going according to plan,” she said.
So far this year, 13,800 stores have to be closed, and if they can’t open on Christmas, that number will grow exponentially, especially as most retailers’ online and logistics capabilities are “close to capacity.” She said.
Kate Nicholls, CEO of UK Hospitality Lobby Group, also said that companies in this sector are “much less resilient” than entering the spring blockade, as many companies have already run out of cash reserves.
She said the sector has already lost 660,000 jobs this year and is now back in “intensive care” as it missed income during the “golden quarter” from Halloween to New Year’s Eve.
