Retaining a health workforce in rural and remote areas: a systematic review
Rural populations around the world continue to face health, economic and social inequalities. The main contribution to pervasive health inequalities in rural and remote areas is the lack of available, adequate and motivated health workers. The review also highlights the need for an appropriate package of interventions to address the factors that affect the availability and performance of health professionals.
